More on Pownce

As I said in the asides, I am now one of the invited members of pownce, and I’ve got to say, I really like the idea. I’ll explain the general purpose again: It is a webapp from which you can share events, notes, URLs and files with your friends. So if you decide to have a party you could send an event to your friends, and within minutes they could reply on your note. It all work in practially real-time, especially with the downloadable AIR application. They’ve got a long way to go though, as some functions are riddled with bugs and there’s a lot more you could implement. Most of it works fine though and I was surprised to see that their AIR application does not in fact chew all your memory up. Only problems I have with it is that I cannot send it to the tray and the file upload function is moot. The web page itself had only one problem, it gave me a HTTP 500 (Internal Server Error) code when I tried to remove a friend set. Otherwise it works fine, I recommend that you sign up to try it – it could be extremely useful for you.
