I just read a news article about someone who got his laptop hacked and used to download child pornography, which is kind of tragic. The reason I need to rant is different - in the comments to this artice (as always it seems) a flameware soon erupted between sensible people and the ignorant trolls who constantly bash Microsoft. Now, I’m not on any specific OS’s side here, but I do think that these trolls really ruin the reputation of Linux users (because they’re always Linux users). Yesterday the Swedish government voted yes on a proposition known in Sweden as FRA-lagen, a proposition for a new law which makes it legal for the government and military to tap essentially everything. A devestating law that goes against some of the basic rules of a modern democratic society. One might even say that this is a rather large step towards a society not entirely unlike the one seen in Soviet during the past cetury. Who said mankid learns from history?

So, Firefox 3 has been released and with it came the usual flood of “OMG It’s awesome, everything else sucks”. This seems to be a general opinion within the Firefox (and some times Open-source) community. I know there are a lot of people who don’t act this way, people who actually have some kind of respect for other’s opinions and know to present their arguments in a civilised manner without falling back to bashing others.

Doesn’t look like you can actually buy it here in Sweden (yet) but the swedish apple store has it so I guess they are going to sell them here too. Eventually.

Anyway, the reason I’m so excited is that it now has 3G. One of the main disadvantages with the old iPhone was that it only had EDGE, which isn’t very common here in Sweden. I’m sure you’ve heard about the other news regarding iPhone 2.0 presented at the Keynote today, and just in case you didn’t engadget had a live blog post about it.
